About this plugin

Falcon is an experimental ChatGPT powered Figma plugin that allows you to quickly search for layers using natural language descriptions.

Simply make a selection, then describe a condition that each layer has to follow to remain selected. The plugin will apply that filter to every layer you've selected, and optionally to every child as well, streamlining your workflow and saving you time.

No one likes searching through layers to manually select a bunch of layers in a messy figma file. Now you don't have to.

You'll just need an OpenAI API key to get started, which you can get here after making an account.

Tips:

• Be descriptive: It's more likely to get you what you want if you're descriptive and specific. It's powered by ChatGPT so if you've used that before, write in a similar way.
• It doesn't know what you've selected: As a measure to both increase privacy and reduce token usage, I've built it to not rely on knowing what you've got selected, so don't write any rules that expect it to have that understanding. For example, don't write "is the name of an animal" (I tried it once to see what would happen and it tried to make a list of every animal to make a comparison, and it hit the token limit so didn't finish.)
• It does some things really well, and other things not at all: It currently struggles with vague references to colors and gradients. If you want to query those, be specific, i.e. don't say "is red", instead use a hex code, list of hex codes/rgba/hsla etc or describe a range of values that should pass. For gradients, "has a gradient" doesn't work reliably. Instead, say something like "has a linear gradient fill".

This is still very much an experimental plugin, so expect it to not work perfectly every single time. My twitter DMs are open if you encounter any issues though.
