About this plugin

With Tree Navigator, navigating patterns with repeated elements like lists, tables or other complex designs becomes much easier.

How it Works

When working with tables for example, selecting all cells in the whole table or a column is a common task. To do this in Tree Navigator, simply select one cell and the plugin will show a list of all its ancestor layers (e. g. Column, Table, Frame 2254, Page 1). Choose the "Table" frame and Tree Navigator will select all cells in that table. Choose the "Column" frame and it will select all cells in just that column.

The magic happens if you select a cell in column A and another in column B. Tree Navigator will additionally display an option to get a selection of all cells in just those two columns, ignoring cells in other columns.

This way, you can select similar elements in various scopes very easily and something that normally takes careful box dragging becomes much less cumbersome.

Layer Search

Tree Navigator also includes a layer search. Like the native Figma search, it is possible to enter a search term and to filter the results by layer type. Additionally, a search can also be scoped to the current selection or the current top level frame. The available filters are:

  • Layer type
  • Search scope (whole page, current selection, top level frame)
  • Case sensitivity
  • Fuzzy and exact search

Recent Searches

Performing a search will save the selected filter settings to make it easy to rerun common searches in the future. Recent searches are shared in a file, so you and your colleagues can access and rerun the same common searches.
