About this plugin
This plugin helps you to copy an object into multiple frames in a click. The copied object preserves its position at the destination frames. Meaning, they get copied at the same position as they were in the source frame. This works for both simple and auto-layout frames.
Why did I develop this?
The thought for this plugin came from personal frustration :) In Figma, I saw that sometimes we wouldn’t be able to drag a new object or an icon into a frame. The object will stay outside the frame somewhere. Then we got to hold the object, and drag through several frames in the sidebar ( our frames usually have the same names making it even tougher)) and then push them into the frame wants. I wanted to have a simple plugin that will just show me a list of frames and then copy the selected object into the selected frame.
As I started developing this, the idea extrapolated from copying to “single frame” to copying to “ multiple frames”. First, the idea was to do this for simple frames only, but then that thought also evolved into supporting auto layout frames as well.
What can the plugin do?
- If the frame sizes are similar, the copied object ( in the source frame) preserves its position in the destination frame also
- Simple frames, auto layout frames, and child frames are supported. Copied object preserves its position in the auto layout also.
- If you copy a component into multiple frames it will get copied as a child instance at the destination frames.
