About this plugin

Felix is a context-aware reasoning application, a digital assistant powered by GPT-4o that can understand your design selections in Figma. You can generate code, request specific tasks in relation to your selections right in Figma!

Felix was created to assist in the software development workflow, and is intended to assist designers and engineers alike in translating designs into the structured information you need.

Felix now supports multi-message chat threads, and comes with Tools; prebuilt prompts that enable you to get started on a number of tasks:

How it Works

Just select a screen or component, type in a question or request, and click the send button, and right away you’ll see the response stream in.

Felix collects and structures the information within your designs, and works with an AI language model to provide insights and perform tasks with your exact design.

Felix can give thorough feedback, call out potential accessibility issue areas, convert designs to code, generate UX research protocols, generate mock data based on given fields, create alternative copy, and anything else you can think of!

Getting Started

You’ll need an OpenAI API key to get started. You can get one easily from their platform site. Sign up for an OpenAI API key here.

Other than the cost for generations, Felix AI is free to use!

(I'll soon release subscriptions and services to simplify the process.)

There’s a maximum to the context windows of each model, so for now Felix handles a few screens or components at a time. Costs are in the cents per generation. GPT-3.5 is great for easy questions, and prices can range from 1-2 cents per generation.

GPT-4 is much smarter and can handle complex tasks like those in the Tools, and will cost anywhere from 2 to 15 cents or so with a large selection. It depends on the complexity and size of the design.

Security

Design selection data is only sent upon clicking the send button, and OpenAI doesn't train with data sent to their API, and neither does Felix.

You’ll need to keep your API key private, and I recommend setting a low spend limit of around $10.00 on their website before getting started for peace of mind!
