About this plugin

color harmony refers to the property that certain aesthetically pleasing color combinations have. These combinations create pleasing contrasts and consonances that are said to be harmonious.

Monochromatic color schemes are made up of variations of one color. This can be done by adding white to a color to create tints, or by adding black to a color to create shades. By using a monochromatic color scheme, you can create a sense of unity and harmony in your design.

A monochromatic color scheme is all about one singular color, but with all its beautiful variations in shades, tints, and tones. Think of it as a family portrait of a single color, where black and white are often included as the most extreme family members!

Two colors that are on opposite sides of the color wheel. This combination provides a high contrast and high impact color combination – together, these colors will appear brighter and more prominent.

Complementary colors are pairs of colors which, when combined or mixed, cancel each other out by producing a grayscale color like white or black. When placed next to each other, they create the strongest contrast for those two colors.

Complementary colors may also be called "opposite colors".

Three colors that are evenly spaced on the color wheel. This provides a high contrast color scheme, but less so than the triadic color combination — making it more versatile. This combination creates bold, vibrant color palettes.

A traditionally-balanced triadic color scheme focuses on one dominant color, with the other two evenly spaced colors both serving as accents. Triadic colors stand out from one another and make for a vibrant, lively color palette regardless of which particular colors are used.

Four colors that are evenly spaced on the color wheel. Tetradic color schemes are bold and work best if you let one color be dominant, and use the others as accents. The more colors you have in your palette, the more difficult it is to balance,

The tetradic (double complementary) scheme is the richest of all the schemes because it uses four colors organized into two complementary color pairs. Tetrad is a very aggressive color scheme, needing very good planning and very emotional approach to relations of these colors.
