Chaos Pattern

About this plugin

Save time placing items in a grid pattern with random offsets, sizes and rotations, all of which can be fully customized.

How to Use

1. Select one or more items, then click "Set" to use them as the pattern.
2. Choose a frame or slide (Figma Slides) to apply the pattern.
3. Click "Generate."
4. Adjust the sliders to find the best settings.

Structure Settings

1. Hexagon Grid: The horizontal position of every other row will be offset.
2. Square Grid: Evenly spaced rows and columns.
3. Circular Grid: Place items on a circular path.
4. Spacing: distance between adjacent items.

Random Settings

Each slider represents how chaotic it is. 1 means very chaotic.

1. Start Position: where the first item will start. 1 means random position of [-spacing, spacing] will be added.
2. Rotation: how far each item can randomly rotate. 0.25 means between -45º and 45º, while 1 allows full rotation between -180º to 180º.
3. Grid Offset: how far from their original grid position the items can randomly spawn. 0 means the items are locked to the grid.
4. Transparency: the level of opacity to apply. 0 means no change. 0.25 means applying a random opacity between 0.75 and 1.
5. Scale: how much scale factor should be randomly applied. 0.5 means the scale will be randomly chosen between 0.5x to 1x.

Tips

When you generate items multiple times on the same frame, the plugin recognizes which items it created and will automatically remove them for you. If you'd prefer to keep previously generated items, consider grouping them before generating new ones.
