Tutorial : https://wayneshih.com/apps/replace-text-with-uuid
What’s a “UUID” and do you need it? If your devs are talking about it, probably yes!
A UUID (Universally Unique Identifier) is a long, random string that uniquely identifies things like users or records in a database without worrying about clashing names. For example f47ac10b-58cc-4372-a567-0e02b2c3d479
. Yup, it’s that long and random!
Now, with Replace Text with UUID plugin, you can quickly swap any selected text in your design with an unique UUID (or an empty one, if that’s what you need -- useful for creating base template screens). This tool does the heavy lifting for you.
Actions available:
- Any text → UUID
- Any text → Nil/Empty UUID
- Nil/Empty UUID → UUID
- UUID → Nil/Empty UUID
Fast, easy, and great for designers working with devs or anyone who loves a bit of randomness in their mockups!
