About this plugin

Figma Variable Viewer is designed to help you inspect and extract Figma variables from the layers that you select. It aids in debugging, documenting, and optimizing design systems by making it easy to inspect and export variable bindings directly from your Figma document.

Variable Extraction & Presentation: When you select layers inside Figma, the plugin gathers the variables that are applied—such as layer name, property, the variable name, and the values associated for each mode in the variable's collection (e.g. Light Mode & Dark Mode). The details are displayed in a table format in a resizable window, allowing you to easily review which variables are bound to which layers and properties.

Export & Copy Functionality: Ideal for designers and engineers who want to transfer or analyze their variable data outside of Figma, improving documentation and collaboration within design systems. Export and copy features include:

  1. Export to CSV file
  2. Export to JSON file
  3. Copy All to Clipboard
  4. Copy a single variable
