About this plugin
Speed-transfer your layouts to Readymag
The Figma to Readymag plugin imports a page layout or its separate elements into a Readymag project. It saves you time and effort when moving anything created in Figma into Readymag. The plugin doesn’t create the ready-to-go website but only transfers the composition so you can elaborate it further.
How to use the plugin
- Open the plugin in your Figma project.
- Select any number of elements or a single-page layout. Click “Prepare for copying” and wait for the process to finish. It may take a few seconds.
- Then, click the “Copy to clipboard” button. Wait a bit until your elements or a layout is copied.
- Go to your Readymag project and paste the content. If you want to paste one or several copied elements, press Cmd/Cntrl+V. If you’ve copied the Full page layout and want your Readymag page parameters to adapt to your Figma ones, press Cmd/Cntrl+Shift+V.
- Wait until the pasting is finished.
Note: The plugin moves Figma elements to Readymag’s Editor using just three widgets: Text, Shape, and Picture. Such functionality saves elements’ visual characteristics but doesn’t add interactivity to them—you’ll need to manually add interactive features, such as links, buttons, and animations afterward.
We made sure to pick the most corresponding substitutes for the unique Figma elements: in cases where some technical abilities in Figma and Readymag don’t match, you’ll get the option closest to your initial idea.
Workflow tips
Here are a few tips that’ll help you use the plugin with maximum vantage:
- To get everything imported smoothly, make sure your Readymag project has the fonts used in the Figma layout. You can add fonts to a project from Readymag’s font library or upload fonts that aren’t in the library directly in the project.
- Transfer to the desktop version of your project. Readymag follows desktop-first logic, which means that the desktop version is the primary one and the mobile version is created from the desktop one. You can paste your elements into the mobile version, but they’ll be hidden by default on the desktop one.
- Make sure each of your elements is within 9999px in width and height. The plugin can only transfer elements in this range. If a Figma element is bigger, it won’t appear in your Readymag layout.
- Use it to import graphics. The plugin makes it easy to import graphic elements, such as icons, directly and in 2 clicks.
