Select Matching Layers in Frame

About this plugin

Instantly find repeated frames or component instances within the same frame and edit them all at once.

Figma’s built-in “Select Matching Layers” feature only works across different frames. This plugin is similar but works within a single frame. Quickly select repeating elements within a single frame and adjust their properties, just like the multi-edit feature. For convenience I recommend setting up a custom shortcut for the plugin.

Pair with Master plugin

Turn matching layers into a single component in seconds with the Master plugin:

1. Use Select Matching Layers in Frame to find all repeated elements

2. Run Master → Create Component from Objects

3. Done. You’ll get a single, clean component with overrides preserved

Technical details:

1. Select all instances of a component (including variants) when selecting an instance
2. Select all layers with matching name and type when selecting any other layer
3. Searches within the same frame only
4. Select multiple objects within different frames, plugin will find all the matches
