Langly helps you manage multilingual content in Figma with ease. Create a directory of your text entries, automate translations using the OpenAI (ChatGPT) API, and sync translations directly into your designs, all within a few clicks.

1. Each Figma document has its own separate text directory, no shared data between files.
2. Add text entries with optional extra context to improve translation accuracy.
3. Translate your original texts to any language using the OpenAI API and your provided API key.
4. Instantly sync your texts and their translations with Figma text nodes.
5. Supports custom language codes like en, en-US, pt, pt-BR, and more.

🔐 Privacy

Langly does not collect, store, or transmit your data in any form.

Please note that your text entries are sent to OpenAI’s servers for translation. We recommend reviewing OpenAI’s privacy policy to understand how your data is handled during that process.

⚙️ How it works

1. Langly operates per document, each file manages its own text and translations.
2. In the plugin’s settings, add:
3. Your OpenAI API key
4. Your preferred OpenAI model
5. A list of target languages.
6. Create text entries with:
7. A unique key
8. The original text in English
9. Optional context notes to improve translation quality.
10. Sync translations into your designs by:
11. Naming text nodes as {key}.{lang} (e.g., errorMessage.nl)
12. Naming component instances with langly:{lang} in their name (e.g., loginScreen langly:nl).
13. Langly will detect and apply the correct translations based on these tags.
