Description:

TextFlow is a powerful Figma plugin that allows designers to tag text elements using {{variables}} and seamlessly replace them with dynamic content. It’s ideal for creating reusable templates, marketing assets, or localized content - all without manually editing text layers.

TextFlow allows designers to select specific nodes within their file and create variables that incorporate their Figma Text & Color Styles or even add links within content.

Guide:

1. Tag your text in Figma - Add variables using double curly brackets. For example: {{name}}, {{title}}, or {{link}}
2. Launch the plugin - Select the frames or groups you want to modify, then open the plugin.
3. Add Variables- The plugin auto-detects used variables or lets you manually add new ones. Set each variable’s key, value, font style, color style, and link.
4. Replace Content - Click Replace Variables to update all tagged text instantly.
5. Restore original text at any time & return to a previously saved state.

Pro Tips:

1. Modify instances rather then original components or groups - its always a good idea to have a save state to go back to.
2. Use an AI assistant to help generate variable keys. Try prompting: "I'm using a Figma plugin that replaces variables formatted like {{variable}}. Can you help me generate consistent key names for..."
3. Click node preview images to jump to them within Figma.
4. Use sections to specify areas that you would like modified.
5. Copy the Plugin-Variables frame which this plugin creates to modify or share the variables created within a Figma file.
