RenameKit is a powerful Figma plugin designed to streamline naming workflows. It automatically renames frames, groups, or inner layers based on text content inside tagged layers like #description, #price, and more.

Customize the output with options for casing, special character stripping, word caps, custom delimiters, prefixes/suffixes, and duplicate-safe numbering. You can target specific parent groups or inner layers for precise control—preview changes before applying them confidently.

Perfect for design systems, catalog layouts, or any workflow where consistent naming matters.

How to Use This Plugin

1. Select your parent group(s) Or leave nothing selected to scan the whole page.
2. Enter the parent group name filter. Example: ART — plugin will look for frames/groups that include this in their name.
3. Add tags (text layers inside the group). Example: #description — plugin will look for text layers named #description inside each group.
4. Choose formatting options
5. Format: UPPERCASE or Title Case
6. Strip special characters: Yes/No
7. Word limit per tag: Trim long tag text to a fixed number of words
8. Optional inputs
9. Prefix: Text to add before the name (e.g., SKU-)
10. Suffix: Text to add at the end (e.g., -LABEL)
11. Replace instead of amend: Replaces the name instead of adding to it
12. Add numeric suffix: Adds _1, _2, etc. to avoid duplicates
13. Also rename inner layer: If you want to rename a specific layer inside the group (e.g., a shape named NUC4)
14. Click “Preview Rename”
15. See the list of name changes before applying.
16. Click “Apply Renames”
17. All matching layers will be renamed as shown in preview.
