About this plugin

Extract Palette is a simple but powerful plugin that automatically builds a color palette from any selected frame, component, instance, or group on your canvas.

When you run the plugin, it scans through all objects inside your selection and collects every unique solid fill and stroke color it can find. Duplicate colors are merged to keep the palette clean. The plugin then generates swatches — neat 100×100 pixel squares — and organizes them into rows by color family (Gray, Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Cyan, Blue, Purple, Magenta).

Within each color family row, swatches are automatically sorted from light to dark based on their luminance values. The palette is placed in a new frame called Palette, positioned right next to your selected frame for easy comparison. Each swatch is labeled with its hex value, so you can copy or reuse it directly.

This tool is especially useful for:

•Designers who want to quickly extract a palette from an existing mockup or UI.

•Organizing messy designs with too many colors into a structured set of swatches.

•Creating reference palettes for presentations, brand books, or design systems.

•Exploring how tones and shades are distributed in your design.

Key Features:

•Works with frames, components, instances, and groups.

•Supports solid fills and strokes (no gradients or effects yet).

•Groups swatches into intuitive color families.

•Orders colors from lightest to darkest.

•Auto-layout rows and parent frame, with consistent spacing and padding.

•Outputs clean, labeled swatches ready for reuse.
