Choreo: For Figma Motion

Requires Figma Motion (beta). Choreo writes real, editable keyframes onto the native Motion timeline; if Motion is not enabled for your file yet, Choreo tells you instead of failing silently.Animating one layer in Figma Motion is pleasant. Animating thirty is an afternoon: add keyframes to every layer, drag each one to start a little later than the last, nudge durations until the rhythm feels right, then do it all again when the copy changes. A twenty-layer cascade is a hundred clicks and drags before it looks like anything.Choreo is for that part. Select the layers, pick a pattern, click once. The result is not a rendered fake or a prototype trick: it is the same keyframes you would have placed by hand, on the native timeline, still yours to edit, scrub, and export. Change the design and apply again; Choreo replaces its own keyframes and leaves everything else alone.CASCADE: entrances and exits, choreographed• 17 presets: fade, slide, pop, scale, rotate, spin, depth presets the timeline UI cannot author (blur-to-sharp focus, shadow lift), and motion along a curve: Arc, Swoop, Orbit, Spiral, baked as real sampled keyframes (native Motion has no path-motion track at all).• Patterns, not just delays: sequence, grid (row/column/diagonal), radial from any corner or center, directional sweep at any angle.• In or Out. Bezier or spring easing (springs genuinely overshoot along the curve on the path presets).• Exact-total timing: fit the whole cascade to precisely the total you want. Hitting a 1200ms brand spec is one field, not per-layer arithmetic.TEXT: kinetic typography without the layer surgery• Native Motion has no per-character animation, so a typewriter headline normally means slicing your text into a layer per glyph by hand and keyframing each one. Choreo does the split, the choreography, and the cleanup: managed and reversible, with the original preserved. Revert restores it; applying after a copy edit re-splits automatically.• Typewriter, Rise, Pop, Blur in, Fade; In or Out; then flow the units Forward, Reverse, Center out, Random, as a Wave, or as a Burst.• Every glyph gets its own real timeline row: scrub it, edit it, export it, copy code from Dev Mode.PATH: strokes that draw themselves• Draw-on for real: trim keyframes make an illustration draw itself stroke by stroke, staggered in any flow. From the start, the end, or outward from the middle; run it Out to erase instead.• Choreo checks your strokes first and tells you which layers can draw and why the rest cannot (closed shape, dashed, no stroke); the rare case it cannot detect up front is reported honestly at apply.LOOP: seamless loops that actually export• Native loop playback is preview-only: exports capture explicit keyframes, so a hand-built loop means writing every pose of every cycle on every layer. Choreo bakes whole cycles for you, and your MP4/GIF/WebM loops come out seamless.• Pulse, Breathe, Float, Sway, Spin, Blink, Shimmer.• Plus four path loops: Arc, Swoop, Orbit, Spiral, closed curves through each layer's resting point (a shallow swing, a figure-eight hover, a full orbit, a wind-out-and-back), baked as real keyframes.• Phase stagger sweeps the loop across your selection (the skeleton-loader shimmer look) while every layer stays perfectly seamless; on the path loops it also rests the layers distributed around the curve.• Timeline is set to exactly cycles x period (or kept longer when other animation in the frame needs the room).Choreo layers on top of your motion, or replaces what was previously animated on the properties it choreographs (default), so switching presets never leaves ghost keyframes. Everything else on your layers, from fills to effects it did not author, is never touched.HOW TO USE1. Enable Figma Motion (beta) for your file. If Motion is unavailable, Choreo says so and disables its controls instead of failing silently.2. Select a frame with children, or several layers inside one frame (Text wants a single text layer; Path wants open strokes).3. Pick a module tab and a preset; the preview card plays the motion live as you tune it.4. Press the big button. Choreo writes real keyframes onto the native Motion timeline and sizes the timeline to fit.5.
