About this plugin

Fontma turns the letters you draw in Figma into a real, installable font file — without leaving the canvas and without uploading anything anywhere.Draw your alphabet as ordinary vectors, tell Fontma which character each shape is, and export a TTF, OTF, or WOFF you can install on your machine, load on the web, sell a font or hand to a client.HOW IT WORKSDraw each letter as a vector, group, or boolean shape. Lay them out in rows — Fontma reads your selection left to right, top row first.Open the Glyphs tab, select the shapes, type the characters they map to, and hit Add. Fontma finds the baseline of each row automatically and scales the letters so your A/H matches the cap height you set.Fill in Metadata: family, style, version, designer, licence, vertical metrics, and embedding permission (fsType).Tune Spacing and Kerning on a live proofing pad, with the standard control strings and the classic pair-stress pangram loaded by default.Export. That's it.WHAT YOU GETReal font binaries: TTF (TrueType outlines), OTF (PostScript/CFF), and WOFFAutomatic baseline detection and cap-height scaling per row of drawingsPer-glyph Y offset, sidebearings, and advance widthSmart Kerning: an optical pass that measures the real gap between every pair and proposes values you can accept, edit, or overwriteKerning pairs, kerning groups, and suggestions for common pairs your font is still missingMulti-step undo for kerning, stored with the projectLigatures (liga) and stylistic alternates (salt) from simple namingFull name-table metadata: copyright, trademark, designer, licence, and URLsA glyph edit page with an Xxfg reference overlay drawn in your own fontBilingual interface: English and Bahasa IndonesiaNAMING CONVENTIONSA, B, 5, ? — one character, one glyphcomma, space, period — use the name when the character clashes with the separator or is invisibleffi, fi, tt — two or more characters make a ligature (liga)a.alt1, A.alt2 — an .alt suffix makes a stylistic alternate (salt)YOUR WORK STAYS YOURSFontma has no network access at all. Outlines, metadata, and the finished font never leave your machine. The project is saved inside your Figma file, so it travels with the document and your collaborators, and can also be exported as a .fontma file to move between files or keep as a backup.GOOD TO KNOWFontma works from vector outlines. Outline your text and expand strokes first.Bitmap tracing, variable fonts, and hinting are not supported.A starter template sheet is included — grab it from the Template button.
