About this plugin
Give Palette one brand color and get back a complete UI color system: 13-tone ramps for accents, neutrals, and utility colors with accessibility baked in - all for free, no account needed.Upgrading to Pro gives you customization options, exports, and a saved history - plus pro access to every future tool Rhapsody builds. Most designers have to build a color palette by hand and it requires hours of painstaking work to make sure the colors don't drift and everything is accessible. Not anymore. With Rhapsody, hue holds (better than Material, better than css4, best in the industry) - no more drifting toward purple in the shadows or grey in the tints.WHAT ONE HEX GIVES YOU• Brand, a complementary accent and an analogous accent• Warm and cool neutrals, tinted by your brand rather than flat grey• Error, warning, success and info• Thirteen steps each, light and darkACCESSIBILITY ISN’T A SEPARATE PASSEvery text-and-background pairing is scored against both WCAG 2.2 and APCA, so you pick shades that pass rather than shades that look about right.EXPORT THE WAY YOU BUILD• Figma variables - a Rhapsody collection, ready to alias• Developer JSON - design tokens nested by role, plus a flat token map• CSS custom properties, or a Tailwind v3 / v4 theme• Accessibility CSV - the whole contrast matrix, sortable in a spreadsheet• A Color System Reference poster, placed on your canvasFREE AND PROGenerate and preview as many complete systems as you like, free, with no account at all. That includes a WCAG contrast grid and copying any single shade.A free Rhapsody Color account adds saved systems: name a system, save it, and reload it later with the exact settings you used, from whatever machine you open Figma on.Pro adds every export above. It also adds all customization: rename a ramp, tune its hue, chroma (how vivid) and exact hex, pin a color, add your own ramps. You get APCA scoring with the full contrast matrix. And you get the print and collision checks, which tell you whether a press can hold your brand color, and where a ramp sits close enough to error, warning, success or info to be mistaken for one. Pro includes everything a free account gets.ACCOUNT AND PAYMENT - PLEASE READ BEFORE INSTALLINGSaved systems and Pro both require a free Rhapsody Color account at rhapsodycolor.com. That's a separate third-party account, not your Figma account. Generating and previewing a system needs no account.Pro is 6 USD per month, or 54 USD per year (25% savings). It's sold and billed by Paddle, our merchant of record. That's outside Figma, not through Figma's payments. There's no trial. If Palette isn't for you, request a full refund within 14 days of the charge, no reason needed.WHAT PALETTE READS AND SENDSIt reads the color of the layer you have selected, so you can use it as a starting point -- nothing else about that layer, and no text or images anywhere in your file. It does check the names of your variable collections, and only the names: enough to find the one it made last time, and enough to be sure it never writes over one it didn't. What leaves Figma is the color you typed or picked from your selection, and your ramp settings, sent to the Rhapsody engine to generate the system; palettes are generated, not stored.Privacy policy: https://rhapsodycolor.com/privacyTerms: https://rhapsodycolor.com/termsHOW IT WORKS, AND HELPFeatures, pricing and answers to the common questions: https://rhapsodycolor.com/paletteThe color science behind it: https://rhapsodycolor.com/how-we-choose-colorsI build and run Rhapsody on my own, and I answer my own mail. Builds your palette on the Rhapsody Color server, and looks up the color names it shows you. Signs you in and checks your subscription at app.rhapsodycolor.com. Reports crashes so they get fixed. Palette reads the color of a layer you select, so it can offer it as a starting point, and nothing else off your file. The fonts are built in, so no font service is contacted.
