About this plugin

A multi-layer to multi-frame paste in place tool that respects layer index. Select any number of layers from multiple frames and duplicate that selection to multiple frames simultaneously.

Copypasta can be used by multiple people at the same time.

How to use Copypasta 🍝

1. Run plugin;
2. Select one or more layers nested in one or multiple frames;
3. Press “Save selection”;
4. Select one or multiple target frames;
5. Press “Duplicate layers”;
6. The original selection of layers will be duplicated across the selection of target frames.

The plugin has 3 settings:

1. Respect layer index: If switched on, the plugin will paste duplicate layers in the same index as their source (e.g. if the bottom layer of frame A is copied, it will be pasted at the bottom of frame B;
2. Select duplicate layers: If switched on, the plugin will automatically select all new layers after a successful duplication;
3. Keep window open: If switched on, the plugin window will remain open after a successful duplication. The last valid source selection remains saved and can be duplicated to a new selection of target frames.

2. (Multi) Paste in place even in X and Y values larger than the frame dimensions;

In Detail 🔎

1. Any type of layer can be duplicated;
2. Only layers nested in a Frame, Main Component, or Instance are considered by the plugin;
3. If a Main Component is selected it will be duplicated as an Instance;
4. A Main Component can be selected as a target frame. An Instance cannot;
5. The original and target frames can differ in dimension;
6. The currently saved selection can only be overwritten by a new valid selection;
7. The operation time will increase if a large amount of layers and target frames are selected.
8. The plugin only duplicates the layers when pressing “Duplicate layers”. Any change applied to the original selection after pressing “Save selection” will be duplicated. Any deleted layer will not be found by the plugin;
9. The plugin will measure the success of the operation by showing how many layers weren’t found, and how many were duplicated inside and outside the bounds of the target frames.
