About this plugin

What?

Convert selected text layers from Fixed-size/Auto-height to Auto-width while preserving line-breaks and styles.

Use this plugin before pushing text layers to After Effects with Overlord.

Why?

Because text layers that are set to anything other than Auto-width, don't play nice with After Effects. Their position and wrapping/line-breaks are not preserved.

Simply clicking on the Auto-width button in the Figma Layer panel, forces the paragraph to a single line, losing all line breaks, wrapping, and original position. Then, line-breaks need to be re-added manually by hitting Enter.

This causes design inconsistencies, which no one likes, and can be very time consuming and prone to error.

Note

If you have some auto layout elements in your design, you might need to break them first, using a plugin called Destroyer.
