AppStore Screenshot Localizer
Translate Screenshots for AppStore, Google Play With AI
Plugin Preview
About this plugin
Localize App Store screenshots in Figma with three buttons: Generate → Translate → Export. No copy-paste. Clean layout. Fastlane-ready ZIP.
- What it does
Duplicates your selected screenshot frames into per-language groups, aligned in a row. Each group is named “Language [code]”.
Translates all text layers inside selected groups via OpenAI. Keeps line breaks and placeholders, preserves styling. Shows progress.
Exports a ZIP with platform-friendly folders and numbered PNGs: en-US/01.png, de-DE/02.png, etc.
- Why it’s useful
Zero manual copy/paste across artboards.
Consistent layout across languages.
Safe for UI strings: {placeholders}, bracketed tokens, and emojis are protected by prompt rules.
Works entirely in your Figma session. No servers. Your OpenAI key is used client-side.
- How it works (three buttons)
- Generate languages: Select your original screenshot frames or instances (not a wrapper group).
- Pick target languages.
- Click Generate languages. The plugin creates one neatly aligned group per language.
- Translate selected groups: Paste your OpenAI API key. Choose a model (e.g., gpt-4o-mini).
- Select the language groups you want translated.
- Click Translate selected groups.
The plugin iterates each group, finds text layers, requests translations for that group’s language code, and replaces the text. A small delay is used to respect rate limits. Progress is shown.
Export to ZIP
Select language groups to export (or leave nothing selected to export all language groups on the page).
Click Export to ZIP. You’ll download screenshots.zip with locale folders and sequential filenames.
Supported export locales (folder names)
ar-SA, ca, zh-Hans, zh-Hant, hr, cs, da, nl-NL, en-AU, en-CA, en-GB, en-US, fi, fr-CA, fr-FR, de-DE, el, he, hi, hu, id, it, ja, ko, ms, no, pl, pt-BR, pt-PT, ro, ru, sk, es-ES, es-MX, sv, th, tr, uk, vi.
Notes and tips
Keep the locale code in square brackets in each group’s name, e.g., German [de]. The plugin reads the code from brackets.
Translate preserves typography: it reloads fonts and reapplies the original text style attributes after replacing content.
If a group has no text layers, it is skipped.
Long strings are left intact; you can fine-tune wording after translation if needed.
Requirements
OpenAI API key with access to Chat Completions. Recommended model: gpt-4o-mini.
Figma desktop or web. No additional setup.
Privacy
No external servers. Network access is only to api.openai.com to perform translations.
The export happens in the UI and saves a ZIP locally.
